Mi Hita is a
womanhood
studio.

Most of us learned surprisingly little about being women, even though womanhood is a lifelong journey.

mi hita (me-he-ta)

What daughters are lovingly called in Northern New Mexico. In Spanish, hito also means milestone.

The hero image features what appears to be an older woman with white hair, a middle aged woman with dark hair, and a young woman with dark hair in a long braid embracing and smiling. There is a terracotta and beige colored arch and agave.

  • Becoming

From the first period through the last, and everything in between and after,

our bodies change,
our lives change,
and
we change.

biology, work, caregiving, relationships, culture, identity, creativity, and becoming.

Mi Hita explores how it all connects:

We learn from

  • modern research

  • ancestral and cultural wisdom

  • knowledge passed between generations

  • women’s lived experiences

Because understanding
creates possibility.

And sometimes, the woman isn’t the thing that needs to change.

We need to rethink the conditions around her.

Creating better conditions for women benefits all of us:

our families, workplaces, communities, and what we create together.
